So the first one happened in May last year and Kelly, Brad, Rob, Grit and I gave the town something to remember, even if we couldn't.
I'd be very interested to know who would be interested in coming along this year, were it to take place.
There are number of interesting things happening in Berlin in May 2009.
The first is the May 1st celebration, which is a large street festival with lots of happy people eating and drinking on the streets and in the parks in Kreuzberg, where I live and where blog HQ is. There's also lots of music. Be warned though, it is not so chilled out when darkness falls, as the 'anarchists' start to riot. It's (mostly) good-natured though, and definitely a real Berlin event.
The second fun event is the Karneval der Kulturen, the Carnival of Cultures. Brad and Rob got to sample this in the blaring sun last year, before falling foul of Ryanair jetlag.
It's a bigger event than May 1st, lasting the whole weekend, and takes place thirty seconds from my apartment. And there won't be any riots whatsoever. It's on the last weekend in May.
So, er, yes. Hotel du Rampage will be open for business and would be able to facilitate about five or six people. The flatulence issue is well known at this stage, and will be elaborated upon in the comments, I am sure. You bastards.
There is also a Holiday Inn a minute down the road, as well as two cheap hostels about thirty seconds away.
So there's the info, who might be interested and on which dates? Oh yes, a visit to blog HQ will also be involved. Naturally. There might even be some beer there.
